Revolutionize your break

There are moments when you feel the need to disconnect, when you want to feel in control of your break and choose who to share it with. Other times, you wish to better manage your time, to be efficient without overexerting yourself.

Cicara is the solution to problems like those surrounding the recovery of our energy. Here are some moving screenshots:

Understanding The Challenge

Cicara is an Italian company with the ambitious goal of replacing disposable cups in vending machines with a smart and eco-friendly cup, without compromising on aesthetic appeal. Cicara offers a 100% biodegradable cover that can be easily replaced to match the user's preferences.

Research

Defining

Identifying

Having identified the insights, we set out to determine the right questions to capture the opportunities:

  1. How can we help individuals schedule and preserve their breaks effectively?
  1. How can we transform the coffee purchasing experience into a seamless and engaging one?

Design

High Fidelity Prototype

Iteration

We conducted dozens of agile usability tests, allowing us to immediately experiment with new changes. After a few cycles, the intentions of the screens, individual elements, and flows became clear to everyone.

In detail, we modified the flow for offering coffee, redesigned the dashboard's layout, and added confirmation and success messages to enhance user reassurance.

Here are some screens that were redesigned based on our tests:

Reflection

Working on this project has been a challenge. The context of breaks and coffee, although seemingly simple, encompasses many facets: it involves every individual, and designing a flow that can accommodate everyone is nearly impossible. Our effort has been to make Cicara an app that can potentially be used by anyone: from those working in a company to freelancers, from those accustomed to working alone to those in groups, from those who prefer solitude to those who value social interactions.

Our effort doesn't end here, and I sincerely hope to continue improving this app based on future feedback.
